This exhibit presents works by amateur and professional photographers of ph-photo, a yahoogroup composed of mainly Philippine photographers, at a time when film was still more popular than digital. Started in July 2001, it displayed an average of six photos weekly.

The photos came from photographers of various interests and locations. The main goal of the exhibit was to present the pictures for educational criticism. For this purpose, the editor Elson T. Elizaga requested some members to form a panel of critics called "The Seven Samurai" in January 2002. The critics used pseudonyms so they could write freely about the works of their colleagues. But an member Samurai Albert Yan expressed his opinions using his name. Master photographer Philip Wayner also contributed articles on visual design.

On March 25, 2003, however, the editor stopped publishing photos in the gallery. So, this website has transformed into an archive -- with occasional bits of new information. The guidelines and Kai Huang's dead link to a FAQ have been removed..
